THE ST JOHN’S REVIEW is open to the whole range of thought, with an eye to as wide an audience as possible. We publish essays, history, literature, mathematics, music, natural science, philosophy, poetry, political theory, and other forms of art and inquiry. Technical matters should be set forth clearly, without assuming a specialist reader.
All manuscripts are subject to blind review. Submissions or other correspondence should be sent via e-mail to editor AT stjohnsreview DOT org.
THE ST JOHN’S REVIEW is published three times a year by the Office of the Dean, St. John's College, Annapolis. It was first published in 1974, and merged with THE COLLEGE beginning with the July 1980 issue. From that date forward, the numbering of THE ST. JOHN’S REVIEW continues that of THE COLLEGE. The online version is a continuation of the print journal whose last issue was published in 2021.
A digital archive of the past issues of THE ST. JOHN’S REVIEW and THE COLLEGE is hosted by the St. John’s College Library and can be accessed here.
The online journal is published simultaneously on Substack. Our Substack page also offers a portal for readers to support us if they wish.
We plan to publish a print-on-demand version of the journal annually. Please sign up for our email list if you are interested in purchasing one.
